Obtaining a Visa

Visitors require a yellow fever certificate if traveling from infected areas. Malaria is a risk throughout the year in the whole country北京福彩官网. Cholera and other water-borne diseases are prevalent during the rainy season. Diseases caused by unsanitary conditions are common throughout the country北京福彩官网, and untreated water should be considered unsafe to drink. It is highly recommended to have a health insurance that comprises evacuation in case of emergency.
Credit cards are increasingly accepted in Maputo, but not generally beyond the capital. Travellers cheques: not commonly accepted, and where accepted are slow to process and often attract high rates of commission.
Don't be surprised when you get on a car: traffic drives on the left.
Bus services in Maputo have been improved with the introduction of new vehicles, and there are now fairly extensive services. Taxis are metered and drivers expect a tip.
Car hire: Cars can be hired from international and local agencies in Maputo and Beira. Only hard currency is accepted.
